The Vero cell lineage, derived from African green monkey kidney tissue, is a widely used host cell line for virus propagation in viral vector and vaccine production. Vero cells are commonly cultured on adherent cell culture platforms, which can present challenges for large-scale production. Therefore, upstream bioprocess development of the Vero line is currently focused on both generating as much cell material possible and improving cell productivity.
