Corning® Viral Transport Medium (VTM), 3 mL

The media used in the Corning 3 mL VTM is an isotonic solution at neutral pH containing protective proteins, an antibiotic to prevent microbial growth, and an anti-mycotic to prevent contamination by yeast and fungi. It has been formulated using the final ingredient concentrations outlined in CDC’s SOP#: DSR-052-05: Preparation of Viral Transport Medium.

• Reagents: HBSS (Hank’s Balanced Salt Solution), 2% heat inactivated FBS (Fetal Bovine Serum), 100 μg/mL gentamicin, and 0.5 μg /mL amphotericin B
• Shipping and storage: 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze.
• Shelf life: 12 months
• Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10⁻ᵌ by aseptic sterile filtration

Manufactured under a quality system that conforms with the current ISO 13485 standard and Quality System Regulation (QSR) per 21 CFR 820, also known as current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

This product is only available for sale to clinical laboratories or to healthcare workers for point-of-care testing covered by a laboratory’s CLIA certification for high-complexity testing, and not for at home testing including at-home specimen collection.
