Vault Cable Closures for Primary Networks, Type UCNV

Mechanical closures comprise rigid closure tubes or domes with one or two end caps for the cable entrances. The sealing between the closure components and the cables is made by means of plastic compounds, such as sealing tapes, gels or by silicone seals. Pressure is applied to the seals mechanically, i.e. with clips, hooks or screw fasteners. This kind of closures can be re-entered and closed as required, for maintenance or system expansion purposes. Universal closures UCN is the main product of the mechanical closures offered by Corning and is designed to protect straight or branch splices on high-pair-count copper cables against environmental influences. These closures can be installed on cut or uncut cables and are suitable for direct buried, aerial and underground installation.
