The Corning Environmental Distribution Center (EDC) is expertly designed to store and protect fiber optic connections and splices in both indoor and outdoor environments. Ideal for industrial, marine, security, or traffic control applications, the EDC accommodates the evolving requirements and growing needs of modern fiber optic networks. Available in two materials, a robust composite construction and stainless steel, all EDC’s offer exceptional chemical and temperature resistance with superior weatherability, making it resilient against harsh environmental conditions such as corrosion, rain, sleet, snow, windblown dust, and inclement weather.

Rated to NEMA 4X and IEC IP66 standards, all the EDC’s ensure reliable protection for sensitive fiber optic components. All units accept Closet Connector Housing (CCH) adapter panels. Some versions accommodate CCH pigtailed splice cassettes, and other versions accommodate splice trays for field connectorization, supporting easy field termination.

For added security, the cover can be secured with quick-release latches or padlocks. All EDC models include brackets for wall or pole mounting, with optional accessories such as grounding kits, rack-mount kits, and various fittings available to enhance functionality.
