康宁经典培养基产品经过广泛测试，通过生长促进分析测定其功能性和毒性。根据预先制定的标准，通过收获量/接种量的比率或增加倍数来测定产品性能。

理化性质
液体和粉状经典培养基产品经过pH值和渗透压检测。此外还检测了粉状经典培养基的残余含水量。根据特定的方案检测pH值和渗透压，且所有设备均根据美国国家标准与技术研究院标准进行过校准。

生物学检测

质量放行测试可确保康宁液体经典培养基产品中的内毒素水平极低，无支原体污染。

内毒素：采用鲎变形细胞溶解物 (LAL) 试验检测经典培养基产品中的细菌内毒素。每批标准液体经典培养基的内毒素水平应<0.25 EU/mL方可放行。用低内毒素水溶解并达到配方要求的重量后，粉状经典培养基产品的内毒素水平应<0.25 EU/mL。

无菌：所有康宁液体经典培养基产品均经过无菌检测。

支原体：采用大规模接种法检测液体经典培养基产品中的支原体。
