Outdoor Pixian Drop Cable Assembly

As an industry leader in optical connectivity products, Corning designs and manufactures the Pixian drop cable assembly with factory-terminated connectors to reduce drop cable installation time significantly in delivering an immediate, ready to install cable drop for subscriber connectivity in an optical network. Corning’s ECAM Connect provides SC APC ruggedized connectivity to outdoor drop cables following IEC standards. Corning’s ECAM Connect pre-assembled Pixian drop uses a Pixian shaped cable of 2.0x5.2mm diameter. ECAM Connect can be plugged into any standard SC simplex coupling and is compatible with Corning BPEO closures. The housing of the connector protects from environmental impacts. ECAM Connect is designed for the above and below drop connections to closures via the corresponding ECAM connect port. The ECAM Connect drop cable can easily be plugged into closures BPEO S0, S1 or S1.5 without opening the closure. Drop cables are terminated at one end to connect to the customer’s premises and are available in different lengths. To connect a new customer simply remove the blind plug from the closure’s ECAM Connect port and insert the ECAM Connect with the assembled drop cable. ECAM connect is also available in a field mountable kit.
