UCAO MS OptiTap® Expansion Kit
The UCAO MS OptiTap® Expansion Kit allows the installation of a new OptiTap® port in one of the eight UCAO MS entry ports for main and branch cables located in the bottom shelf of the splice closure. This additional port will be connected to a pigtail in the internal part of the UCAO MS. Up to 4 OptiTap® Expansion Kits can be used in one single UCAO MS (2 in each side of the closure).
The UCAO MS OptiTap® Expansion Kit can be purchased as a standalone item (UCAO-MS-OPT-EXP), to be used in UCAO MS terminals previously shipped by Corning, or as a pre-installed port in new orders for the UCAO MS.
Some of the main benefits provided by the UCAO MS OptiTap® Expansion Kit are:
- UCAO MS port capacity increase, from 16 up to 20 OptiTap® ports per closure.
- Investment protection. UCAO MS closures that have already been deployed can be easily expanded with up to four OptiTap® ports, reducing or maybe even eliminating the need to replace installed closures when there is a demand for growth in the FTTH network
- Neutral host providers have more flexibility to address orders from new customers
