Riser Distribution Terminal Housings
Corning OptiSheath® riser distribution terminals are small, simple interconnects between the distribution network riser cable and horizontal drop cables. These modular housings are compatible with interchangeable panels and modules to maximize configurability for complex multidwelling unit (MDU) environments. MTP® panels and MTP-to-SC modules allow for up to 36-fiber capacity and up to 24-fiber capacity, respectively.
The indoor riser solution system comprises 12- and 24-fiber riser cable assemblies with MTP connectors on each end for fast connection to the indoor fiber distribution hub (FDH) and the riser distribution terminals. Once the riser cable assemblies are deployed, the remaining slack is stored on a collapsible reel, placed in the indoor FDH or the riser distribution terminal. The solution benefits are maximized further with sealed low-loss MTPs and adapters so that the connectors can be quickly connected out of the box without an additional cleaning step.
There are two terminal options available: a wall-mountable housing and a conduit housing that mounts in line with the conduit. The installer configures the hole locations on-site for cable and conduit entries. The wall-mount housing has foam-gasketed cable entries on the bottom to accommo- dating small-form-factor single and multifiber cable assemblies. Both have industry standard 216–B locking mechanisms and slack storage capable of holding one reel with up to 100 ft of riser cable and 4 ft of drop cable.
